Growed up Part #1

Guess who's all "growed up"?

I was pleasantly surprised when this came in the mail.

I thought it would take 3 months for in to come in the mail.  I guess not as many people graduate during the summer.

I can't wait until I get to walk at graduation on December 14th.

Yay for me! :)

My Very Own Linus

Colin is the funniest, silliest little toddler I have ever seen.

He makes the funniest facial expressions.

He does the silliest things.

One of my favorite things about him is that he is a thumb sucking, blanket holder.

My other kids have not gotten as attached to their thumbs or blankets (OF COURSE, We are still trying to wean Logan off of his sippy cup.  He is four and states that his sippy is his best friend.).

My other kids didn't even like to use binkies when they were babies.

I think there is nothing as adorable as a sweet little kid holding his blanket and sucking his thumb.

And, therefore, I am proud to say that I have my very own Linus.

So sweet!
So talented.  He can hold his sippy, his blanket, and suck his thumb at the same time.

I also found out the other day that he likes to wear underwear on his head.  He put it on there all by himself. (Don't worry.  It was clean.)

I'm sure it won't be so cute in a couple of years when I am trying to get him to stop sucking his thumb, but for now I love it.

P.S.  I got a job!!!  More details soon.  Wish me luck.

I wanna be a writer

When I was young I wanted to be a writer.

I loved making up stories and putting them into book format.  I even wrote a play in 5th grade with songs.  Me and all of the girls in my class would act it out at recess.  (Ya.  We were cool).  It think I still have it somewhere in a box.

As I grew older I wanted to be different things.  Such as an anethesiologist (I just loved saying the word), a teacher, and a nurse.

I obviously haven't gone into any of these fields of study.  Instead I am studying Human Resource Management.

I love HR!

But deep down I still wanna be a writer.

I know I don't usually write the most fascinating or thought provoking blog posts.  But I feel like I have so much untapped potential.

Therefore, I will be writing and publishing a book to fulfill my childhood dream of being a writer.

Hopefully this will happen sooner than later.

I wouldn't mind if I made some money in the process either.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

What do you still want to be?

P.S.
To make this post more visually interesting, I thought I would throw in a cute picture of my baby wearing my ipad sleeve on his head (his idea).

Can I have it all?

For the last few years, my brain has been in an ongoing wrestling match with my heart.

This began when I decided to go back to school in 2008.  I had always known that I would go back.  Call me crazy, but I like school.  Plus my patriarchal blessing talks a lot about education.

When I went back to school I wasn't really thinking about working... just getting a degree so that I could feel educated and be able to say that I had one.

Well, here is where the wrestling match has begun to get heated.  I will soon be graduating.  So exciting!.... and I really like what I am studying.  I am learning all about Human Resource Management and the more I learn about it the more excited I get to use my knowledge and gain experience in the work place.  I even go around telling people that my dream job is to be the HR Rep for Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, PA, A.K.A. Toby (if you don't watch then office than you won't understand the reference).

I have been seriously considering getting an internship or job.  I have even applied for and interviewed for a few.  There is no pressure for me to work.  Chris has a good job and we can get by without me working.  But for some reason I have put pressure on myself to get a job... and I feel that if I don't soon that I will be letting myself down.

Where is this coming from?  I don't know.  Shouldn't I just be happy to be a stay-at-home mom?  Being a mom is great, but I feel like there is so much more that I can do.   Is that bad of me to say?

I know it is important to be with my children.  I love them dearly.  But I feel like I can be a super mom and do both.  This would mean putting them in day care for at least a little bit, but they would probably learn more there than what I teach them at home.  Is this wrong of me to think?

I really just want to work for a little while so that I can get some experience and not completely forget all of the stuff that I have worked so hard to learn in the last few years.  This would also help me out for when my kids are grown up and I don't want to sit around the house all day.  Plus we could use the extra money to pay off some bills and get out of debt faster.

What do you think?

Can I have it all?

P.S.  I have put a lot of serious consideration into this decision and spent a lot of time on my knees.  My husband is totally supportive of what I want to do.  He said, "Whatever makes you happy".  So sweet.  I know that I have to make this decision on my own with the help of my Heavenly Father, but I would really like to know what your thoughts are on my wrestling match dilemma.  Thanks. :)
